How Technology is Transforming Real Estate and Training

Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming part of everyday business but in real estate where relationships, trust and compliance matter, the opportunity goes far beyond simply creating property descriptions faster. In Episode 9 of I Am Not a Robot, Justin Melton and Luke Taylor are joined by Rosy Sullivan, Principal of the Australian College of Professionals, to explore how AI is changing real estate and professional training.

For real estate professionals, one of the biggest opportunities is giving time back to the people behind the business. AI can assist with property copy, inspection reports, research, marketing and administrative processes while helping agencies create more consistent communications. This allows agents to spend more time doing what they do best: talking to people, negotiating and building relationships. AI is also helping level the playing field across the industry. Smaller and regional agencies can access tools and capabilities that may once have required larger teams or greater resources. From producing professional marketing to streamlining everyday processes, technology is making it easier for businesses of different sizes to compete and deliver a strong client experience.

However, real estate is also an industry where getting information right is critical. Agents and strata managers work within complex legislation, privacy requirements and compliance obligations. Rosie discusses examples where AI provided information from the wrong Australian jurisdiction because the relevant New South Wales information was not yet available. AI can provide an answer quickly but professionals still need the knowledge to determine whether that answer is correct.

This is where training remains essential. AI can make research faster, summarise complex information and help professionals work through new requirements but having access to information is not the same as understanding it. People need the foundational knowledge to question an AI generated response, identify errors and confidently apply information to real situations.

For business leaders, the opportunity is not about choosing between people and AI. It is about building teams that know how to use technology while retaining the judgement, knowledge and human connection their clients rely on. Rosie’s message is simple: embrace AI and make it useful in your business but always check it for accuracy. Used well, AI can help people get more done, improve the client experience and give professionals more time to focus on the work where people matter most.
